Waiting for Dorothy
Hickory the farmhand from The Wizard of Oz is waiting with a shotgun in his right hand and a lollipop in his left. The shoulder patch indicates his allegiance to the Lollipop Guild. The oil can in the barn window reminds us that Hickory is the Tin Man in Oz. The Wicked Witch of the East with her ruby slippers and stockings was the one who turned the Woodsman to tin and why he lost his heart. Oil on Panel ( 10 x 20 inch Panel / 16 x 26 inch Frame) Waiting for Dorothy was on display as a part of the Wild Dreams of a New Beginning Exhibit February 26th – April 10th at Blue Line Arts in Roseville, CA.
