Orchestrate Entropy*
The project I created for my final MFA exhibition is entitled Orchestrate Entropy* and was exhibited at Fort Mason in San Francisco. I arranged everyday objects on the ground in eight overlapping rows that converge at the center. The sculptural installations footprint resembles an eight-sided glyph the name of which comes from the Latin asteriscum meaning "little star". Printers of family trees in Feudal times are attributed with inventing this typographical symbol to indicate that a date was a year of birth. With this installation I investigate the organizing principle of intelligent design as discernible in the objects created by man and the cosmos.
