Type Face Cards
This poster design was selected as a PRINT Magazine / PRINT Celebrates Design 2015 Competition Winner. In my typography course, the students analyze several hand-lettered script alphabets and typefaces. They create their own hand-lettered alphabet. This semester they selected face cards and then hand-lettered the name of their card based on their alphabet in a decorative style adding flourishes and embellishment. The students then transfer the phrase with chalk onto blackboard signs measuring [ 32 x 48” ]. The signs were exhibited in the DOMA Gallery on BYUH Campus. I created this hand-lettered ink poster to advertise the exhibition. I took still images of my progress and completed this time lapse video in After Effects.
