A year is spent on each book project researching, traveling, creating, designing, and editing. The design and assembly of these books comprise well over ten thousand man-hours. The process to produce the books also involves getting bids from printers, overseeing the book printing on press, and advertising and shipping as well. I developed and taught the Design Studio course in which the students have continually produced award-winning books. It is a collaborative production of students across disciplines such as photography, design, and illustration. I lead my students in the design of this edition of the Fine Art Book Series.
Utopia was included in the 2022 AIGA 100 Show in Salt Lake City, Utah which showcases the 100 best designs in Utah. Utah’s most prestigious juried

This year's judges were: Nicole Zwerlein from Design Team Lead, AnswerLab, and Kristin Ouellette Muskat a Senior UX Designer, Coforma.
